Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and one of its 32 council areas. Historically part of the county of Midlothian (interchangeably Edinburghshire prior to 1921), it is located in Lothian on the Firth of Forth‘s southern shore. It is Scotland’s second most populous city and the seventh most populous in the United Kingdom.
Recognized as the capital of Scotland since at least the 15th century, Edinburgh is the seat of the Scottish Government, the Scottish Parliament and the supreme courts of Scotland. The city’s Palace of Holyroodhouse is the official residence of the monarch in Scotland. The city has long been a center of education, particularly in the fields of medicine, Scots law, literature, philosophy, the sciences and engineering. It is the second largest financial center in the United Kingdom (after London) and the city’s historical and cultural attractions have made it the United Kingdom’s second most popular tourist destination attracting 1.75 million visits from overseas in 2016. The Real Mary Kings Close Private Tour
We went through dozens of videos before finding this one of Mary King’s Close above, and believe it has the best footage.
Mary’s Close is an old Edinburgh close under buildings in the Old Town area of Edinburgh, Scotland. It took its name from one Mary King, daughter of advocate Alexander King, who in the 17th century had owned several properties within the close. There are dozens (maybe more) videos around “Haunted Edinburgh” and do remember that martyrs’ and witches suffered real horrible torment in the history of this area and, honestly, the world.
As we view and ponder these pages of world history and geography, our highest hope is for a kinder world.
PLATINUM 365 CITY Sponsor|Curators can feature up to five Artistic Highlights for their sponsored city’s page annually (for this first phase of our Reach the World Campaign). We hope to ultimately build an automated system that will allow for direct input and thereby allow us to accommodate a lot more change.
This is really cool!

Creativity is the ability to bring thought into existence.
ZO absolutely believes that everyone has a measure of creativity and that by applying it to every area of our lives, massive change is possible. We encourage all that we meet to reflect on these inner abilities and to develop creatively as much as you are able.
By supporting our efforts through this sponsorship campaign, you are allowing us to connect to more creative souls and we are thrilled to make all of these connections on the basis of our planet’s geography. We believe that this is a connection of the heart.
Whether your sponsorship is for yourself, for your creative business enterprise, or for a Hero or Shero that is still with us (or In Celebration of one who has gone before), we believe in the eternal spirit of all that we do. What has been done before, affects us, and what we will do will affect the next generations. Thank you so much for your support. We wish you an overflow of creativity!
