Patti Kent is a concert violinist and recording artist. She has a B.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts, and has been a member of a variety of orchestras including the Las Vegas Symphony. Patti studied with an array of excellent violin teachers including Rosemary Malocsay, Romeo Tata, Donald C. Portnoy, Lyman Bodman, Neumi Fisher and Yoko Matsuda.
Patti has been a member of the Society of Friends for thirty-five years. She has a heart for reaching out to those in need.
Patti served in Africa as a missionary evangelist, along with her husband, Tom Kent, the Pastor at Simplicity Friends Church. Patti has released four CDs which are available through Simplicity Friends.

“(Nashville) ranks No. 38 among the largest metro areas in terms of immigrant population share. By contrast, in the Memphis Metro area, 66,759 residents are foreign-born. Just 2 percent of Nashville’s population was foreign-born in 2000. Now it’s more than 12 percent foreign-born. More than 140 languages are spoken in Metro Schools, and 30 percent of students speak a language other than English at home. Nashville Public Library’s collections include books and materials in 19 languages. Library staff members speak a total of 22 languages. Nashville has the largest Kurdish population in the United States – about 15,000. The Nashville Metro area has the 9th largest Laotian population in the country. Nashville took in more than 70 percent of the refugees who were relocated to Tennessee by the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program from 2008 to 2015. According to Nashville Next, assuming the current trends, by 2040, Davidson County is expected to be a majority-minority; meaning the majority of the population will not be white, but will be Hispanic/Latino, Black, and Asian/Pacific Islander (a combined 68 percent of the total population, compared to the current 65.2 percent white population number from the U.S, Census).” Mary Hance.
