It is primarily composed of ground meat (pork, or pork and beef), pin-head oats and spices.

Similarly to goetta’s origins, mock turtle soup was a dish popularized by the influx of German immigrants in the late 19th century. Originally made with offal, today Cincinnati-style mock turtle soup is characterized by ground beef, hard-boiled eggs, and ketchup. The only remaining commercial canner of the soup, Worthmore, has produced it in Cincinnati since 1918.

At the age of 14, he studied at Mymensingh Zainul Abedin Art School alongside his formal education in Mymensingh Zilla School. Later, in 2006, he would graduate in fine arts from the University of Dhaka, where he had attended group exhibitions, art camps, workshops home and abroad. In July 2011, his first solo exhibition, titled “Essence of Mystery,” launched at Alliance Franciase de Dhaka. In November 2012, his art works and interviews were published in a book named “Shining Above the Rainbow,” by author and curator Viet Tran. In 2019, he directed his first documentary film “Ekjon Golam Murshed” with Binu Mahbuba.

According to Tarak Mahadi, author of the book Spirit of Beauty & Beast, “art is the universal language of life.” Given that his new book is written in both Bangla and English, it is all the more clear that Mahadi values the accessibility and openness that art brings. An independent artist himself, Mahadi’s portfolio boasts works of paint, dry pastels, watercolor, sculptures, and sketches.

No matter the medium, he manages to capture the intimacy and expressiveness of the human experience, and also the quiet beauty observed in nature. Even still, Mahadi himself feels that some emotions are too vast to be properly conveyed by painting, and he finds his alternative in the world of poetry.

The Dhaka Art Summit (DAS) is an international, non-commercial research and exhibition platform for art and architecture related to South Asia, held every two years at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. DAS was founded in 2012 by the Samdani Art Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh. With a core focus on Bangladesh, DAS re-examines how we think about these forms of art in both a regional and an international context.

Set in the long-abandoned third-floor wing of Flinders Street Station, Time is a nostalgic love letter to mid-century Melbourne and a tribute to one of the city’s great icons.

Created and developed across the past three years, this truly exceptional site-specific experience is Rone’s most ambitious project to date. Profoundly atmospheric, Time captures both the grand scale and character of the site and the minute detail of a period of Melbourne’s history long lost to progress.

A fictional history that transports audiences to post-WWII Melbourne, Time is inspired by an era when European migrants powered the city’s booming manufacturing industries. A vignette of mid-century working-class life and an ode to the faded yet enduring beauty of this forgotten place, Time captures the spirit of the city’s industrious past while offering glimpses of the station’s role as a once-glorious hub of work, learning and social life.

Twelve installations, each room adorned with Rone’s haunting signature murals, the artist and his team have created an immersive, multisensory installation that audiences will remember for time to come.

Rone feels like a blend between fine art and street art. In Melbourne the street art scene is vivid and alive!

Illya was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine but has spent most of his life growing up in Virginia. He currently resides on the East Coast with his golden retriever Dolya. Johannesburg, informally known as Jozi, Joburg, or “The City of Gold”, is the largest city in South Africa, classified as a megacity, and is one of the 100 largest urban areas in the world.
